LIST OF NECESSARY DOCUMENTS FOR SELECTED CANDIDATES

Firstly, selected candidates must present the document in which they accept or renounce the grant within 10 working days after the date on which announcement of the award is published.

 

  • Acceptance document
  • Waiver

 

Candidates who accept the grant must also present the following documentation (first and as soon as possible):

  • Authorization Non-UE citizens

Afterwards:

  • Personal and bank account details.
  • Social Security number, otherwise, TA-1 form
  • Model 145 IRPF.

BENEFITS

Upon signing the contract, the fellows will automatically be registered under the general regime of the Spanish Social Security System, which stipulates the following benefits:

 

  • Full social health care coverage.
  • State pension.
  • Unemployment benefits.
  • Maternity/paternity leave of 16 weeks for women and for men according to Spanish law. When applicable, paternity leave could be joined indistinctly by the mother or the father, after week 7 from date birth.

 

The employment contract with USAL also specifies a series of specific benefits that might differ from other public administration positions:

 

  • Vacation: 22 working days per year.
  • Health Checks: all USAL employees have the option of a medical check every year, paid by USAL.

WORKING CONDITIONS

USAL4EXCELLENCE fulfils the quality standards set out in the European Charter for Researchers. These include very good working conditions and a stimulating working environment for ERs, as well as the obligation to continually develop and improve staff policy, staff management and staff development in accordance with the basic principles of the European Charter for Researcher. Excellence in working conditions will include (but will not be limited to):

 

  • Attractive working conditions for researchers. USAL4EXCELLENCE will offer ERs higher-than average salaries than “usual” postdoc salaries in Spain. In addition, ERs can expect 30 days off in a year (at a 37,5-hour week), facilities such as childcare on main campus & USAL Science Park.
  • Opportunities to ERs from their first day at USAL. For example, being part of USAL Science club or participating in the activities offered by Physical Education and Sports Unit.
  • Flexible working hours as a benefit. Due to COVID-19, the Spanish Government has approved a national law for the regulation of teleworking and USAL is implementing a policy along the same lines.

INSTITUTIONAL ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT - AVAILABLE SERVICES AND FACILITIES

Fellows will have access to all administrative and human resources structure of the project with USAL for any kind of support. Furthermore, fellows will get support from USAL Alumni Association, University Promotion and Orientation Service and Professional Insertion Internships and Employment Service. ERs and their supervisors/mentors will receive, when and if necessary, mental health support provided by the USAL Social Support Unit of the USAL, including briefing sessions.
